I guess one of the first questions is, why not just have a holiday and forget about the work! Afterall, isn’t a holiday about just relaxing and having fun? Imagine…the stress, expectations and committement while having to balance both working and traveling!
Truth is, there are numerous reasons why one should attempt to balance both!
Here they are in no particular order:
1) Truly immerse in the local community or culture by staying for an extended period of time in one place
2) Experience local work and play culture at a level unknown to most.
3) Make $$$ to finance your travels, luxuries and day to day living without too much stress of thinking about the next meal!
4) Enhance your CV with the job experience
5) Try new jobs, learn new skills, expand your horizons, go beyond your limits!
6) Extend your holiday longer as you don’t have to rush back to a job!
7) Relax even while you work as these jobs can be less stressful (no guarantee though!)
8 ) Create more and deeper friendships within the local community
9) You can still save money while traveling!
10) You can take your time to enjoy the sights and sounds of the city/country during your off days, weekends etc
There you have it. Convinced? heh..
